CF3D :: NightMode released !

As a first public test of the CF3D ("Chainfire3D") OpenGL ES proxy driver for Android, I have released the "NightMode" application.

The idea behind NightMode is based on Jeff Sharkey's excellent power-saving and night-vision-preserving idea for surfaceflinger effects (read the link !). Even if this is only a test app, it might as well be useful!

The app allows you to switch the screen into red, green, blue, salmon and amber colors. These use significantly less power than full color, and especially red mode has little effect on night vision, so it is handy to use in the dark.

The Chainfire3D project itself is aimed at fixing various OpenGL ES issues on various devices. Stay tuned for more on that !

I'm on a HTC Sensation and I can't find this app (3D Chainfire Pro) anywhere on my phone after install, where and how do I run this thing, annoying.

Already uninstalled it. (Because i could not get it to work, and if that is the case I want my money back).
