The GingerBreak APK is a wrapper around the newly released GingerBreak exploit (credits to The Android Exploid Crew), which is meant to attain root access on GingerBread. This specific exploit may work on various Froyo and Honeycomb versions as well.

As stated many times before, GingerBreak only works on VERY specific Android builds. If it doesn't, there is little I can do about it - the exploit has been fixed in your Android version.

Hi,

Just wanted to say thanks for all your work. Tried the Gingerbreak apk on my Desire HD that was rooted but lost root access with the Gingerbreak update version 2.37.178.8 (CL66021 release-keys).

Tried several times left for up to 20mins but did not reboot.

Am I doing something wrong or can't this version be rooted as yet?

I have a HTC Desire S with 2.3.3 android, Hboot 98.0002 and when i used gingerbreak it didn't work and also i get no signal now!!! just turned my phone into a useless piece off crap!! need a fix for this asap!!!

the cricKet huawei Ascend II CANNOT be rooted..thank u so.much for ur apk release though. ill guess ill warn cricket supporters to buy other cricket androids..by the way chain have u even tried to study the huawei brand software to see how rooting was success with the first ascend and a failure with the 2nd??

I've a HTC Bravo Desire A8181, android 2.3.3, baseband 32.56, kernal 2.6.35.10 build 3.14.405, software number 3.14.405.1, browser webkit/533.1

I've tried both versions of Gingerbreak don't work. Not really sure what's wrong. It continuously runs the exploit.

If you all would bother to read the Gingerbreak thread you would know it does work on new ROMs.

HOWEVER, there is a new exploit available called "zergRush", that works on all known Gingerbread ROMs. Google it :)

im running with an htc inspire 4g, dunno if itz supposed to work or not but when i run the root it just keeps circling with this...

rooting...
running exploit...
this may take a few minutes!
Device will reboot on success!

yeah i've been sitting here with the same screen for an hour now...any help?
